Will Rap Music Bring A Revolution?

Rap, a branch of music that was developed by disc jockeys (DJ) and urban blacks in the late 1970s, in which an insistent, recurring beat pattern provides the background and counterpoint for rapid, slangy, and often conceited rhyming patter persuasively intoned by a vocalist or vocalists.

After whole 3 decades the waves of rap music have surely taken the youth of Pakistan under its consideration. Initially it was thought that rap was describing redundant in ones life. The current trend in Pakistan is generally to start off with cover tracks and once the artist has gained a following, he or she can move onto performing original tracks. But coming up with covers does not make one stand out unique, unless an artist/band come with original track.

Rap is scarcely accredited by critics because the only thing coming out now sucks. Unfortunately though, rap is loved by the masses, but for the wrong reasons. But the view of the listeners has now changed regarding Rap Music. The development of the rap scene in the country seems to be all about fighting stigmas regarding the genre of music. As there are many people don’t understand that rap music is basically a reflection of lifestyles. Unlike western rappers, who characteristically showcase accessories or luxury cars, Pakistan’s rap scene is different as it is not plagued by gang war scenes as seen in the Western World.

Rap has been called explicit and uncouth, in Pakistan, with rise of rappers such as Rap Engineers, Adil Omar, Osama Com Laude, DJ Danny and Bali Shah. These guys introduced rap in either English or Punjabi. On contrary to this Fortitude introduced rap in Pushto. In recent time Ali Gul Pir and Faris Shafi made fans crazy about their music

Yet with all this growing genre of music, yet a question remains un-answered, whether this genre of music will develop into a massive stature of success or with passage of time it will decay. All this time will decide but we wish all the musicians/artists in this field good luck with their upcoming projects.
