Atomic Chain Interview Pt. I (Mahad Ali Sajid)

Name: Mahad Ali Sajid
DOB: July 24, 1992
Nick Name: Flaym, Mady, Mudha, YoYo
Favourite dish: Palao, Pizza
Tell us a bit about yourself?
Some ordinary guy trying to do some not so ordinary things in life. Bringing out
the artist inside.
Study background?
Currently studying Film & Television at the National College of Arts Lahore.
What are your songs about?
Our songs are basically about ourselves. We (I and Raheej) are all about playing
with what we know, experimenting, and bringing out something different everytime.
Knowing what you do is one thing, but the creative element comes in when you play
with it and experiment.
Who inspired you to become a singer?
I was always into making music and songs in general. I remember recording original
stuff in my dad's cellphone back when I was 11 or 12.
That one artist you would love to work with?
There are many. Some of them would be Ali Azmat, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Lupe
Fiasco, Coldplay and Dr. Dre.
Define music/singing in your own words?
From a musician's perspective, music is your definition. It defines who you are
because at the end of the day, you're creating what you feel like.
Is there any message you consistently try to portray in your music?
To artists, be original. To the people, stop blaming others when you yourself
don't do anything about anything. And ofcourse, work hard play hard.
If you got a record deal at this second, would you accept it?
Depends on what I'm being offered. I'm not here to do business. I'm an artist and
my music will always be my priority.
You are currently working with a band, ever thought of ditching it?
Never thought about ditching it. Raheej and I are literally brothers, so I don't
see anyone ditching the unit for a long time lol.
Would you prefer performing solo or with your boys?
With my boys. Always. The feeling, It's always something different.
Best performance yet?
With Raheej, the best was at the Welcome Party '12 at The University of Central
Punjab. And my best solo performance was at NCA Welcome Festival '12 as a member
of the Western Music Society.
Views about Pakistani music industry?
A lot of fake artists, especially in the Rap/Hip-Hop scene. Mainstream not doing
so good. And a lot of great underground/independent artists and bands.
Which Pakistani female vocalist would you like to collaborate with?
Mesha Shafi, Maria Fatima Unera Qureshi and a couple of seniors in my college lol.

How much role does the sound editing software’s play in a final ready to listen
song?
Not much in what we do. I mean, in Rap & Hip-Hop, the vocals are mostly raw. They
sound better that way.
Which musical instrument do you play really well?
None, to be honest. But I sure would love to learn playing a flute and rubab.
Worst comment by any hater?
When we were about to perform at the Welcome Party @ UCP, a hater (another
rapper/director of the Plektra Music Society) was like " Yaar ye live kar hi nahi
kar saktay mjhe pta hai ". Got owned later on.

Any upcoming projects?
A lot. Can't name them all. Some of them are Super Cold, Hawami, Oh Bhens.
Any message for your fans?
Keep supporting. You're all we need.

In whose name....

In whose name do we burn down our country?

In whose name are we Pakistanis burning up our own country? Who has been insulted and disgraced so much so that we have all come out of our homes and started rioting. We have responded in a chaotic manner, which does not suit the image of Muslims, but then again the image that we have upheld for most of this decade isn’t as peaceful as the name Muslim. This was the plot, this was what the brains behind that cheap movie wanted; they wanted us to react, and not in a positive manner by boycotting their goods and products, they wanted us to raise havoc, and twist our own nation into a savage tribe of animals. Yes, that is exactly what they wanted and that is what they got. We Pakistanis are quite a handful; while the other countries held peaceful protests, we took it upon our selves to once again shame the name of Islam and Muslims all over the world and fight, and rage down roads not giving a damn about peace which is what Islam stands for; Islam means peace. Well who would have thought that the people who sworn to be the Prophets followers don’t know the meaning of their own religion.
That just brings a twist into our small story here people.
A man who was known for his patience and love and humility, that man would have been ashamed to see us fighting and burning our own parts. This is our country; it’s like our own body. Thus, rioting and screaming and burning it, is like burning our own parts. This isn’t Jihad, or a way to show our love and obedience and loyalty to the Prophet and God. This is a joke that our mediocre country men are playing.
We are no doubts puppets, dangling from strings that are being controlled by another power, a power which uses its head instead of emotions, and a power which is smart and cool and collected and knows the right buttons to push to enrage 2 billion Muslims.

You want U.S.A to pay, to react then you need to sit down and have a meeting. Not on talk shows, not in rallies. You need a meeting to decide what to say; since all Muslims are one Ummah, then they should have one statement, don’t you think? Every country besides Pakistan is protesting peacefully, their governments are cooperating with them, polices forces are with them and their people from all walks of life stand by them with humility to protest. The meaning of their protest is to show how insulted they feel, that their religion is being degraded, that their Prophet is not being given due respect.
And you know what’s happening in this part of the world, in a country called Pakistan?
Our hormonal teenage boys and our over rated Molanas are declaring war on the man, who made the movie. It would have been nicer if our own people weren’t hypocrites, if they only realized that they weren’t pleasing Muhammad or his God by doing this, I wish they could realize that the after shocks of our decisions today would reflect badly on every person who lives in this country. I wished that some people had realized that one day, when they’ll be dead; they’ll have to give answers about each and everything they did; from snatching the roof of innocent and poor, gobbling up funds for the improvement of our country, rights and laws which they did not abide by, and the money. How can we forget the large sums of money, the billions of dollars that flowed into the banks of many politicians without any hesitation? They will have to answer. We will have to answer for quoting half Verses from the Quran, and declaring true knowledge of a book about which we have no sense what so ever, no respect and no value.
Let me quote the hundreds of times when angels came to the Prophet, saying that he only had to say yes and they would send God’s torment on the tribe and destroy them. Not once did the Prophet said to destroy those people then why us? Why do we think that we have been carrying the name of Islam and have a right to rewrite Muhammad’s history and examples? We don’t! If we are his followers then we need to follow his examples; while dealing with the world, while dealing with hypocrites and all sorts of people. We need to follow the example of the man who used his brain, not his emotions to conquer the entire world. That is why he is an example, because he was never unjust, never unfair and always, always steadfast and patient.

8 Things learnt, the hard way!

8 Things People Learnt, in life, the hard way :-

Life gives you the whirl of emotions. Even I, sit at times, randomly, saying if i did anything wrong to the people i met today or something like that. In the end, its all because we have learnt stuff the hard way in the past. Lets get through a few of them :-

1) Stop giving importance to someone on high alert until they show they deserve it : Life is full of surprises. We meet many people. By many people, the circle is big. Importance itself means giving someone some good priority in your life. So when we get to know someone, lets just get to know them more first, and then think on taking them on a serious note in our lives.

2) Be humane to others in general : Importance and humanity are two different things. We come across many people as said above but being humane to them is the thing every human being deserves. If you make someone smile a day, it would surely bring a laugh on their face that they weren't expecting the whole time at that point. Be nice to people. Giving them full importance is something else.

3) Past made your present. Stop moaning about it : In general i see people moaning about their past. Though we don't know what they went through and that time is the toughest but we still can make one change in ourselves and that is MOVE ON. This is the present which is right now. Past would make it more effective and worse if we would even think of remembering it.

4) Talk LESS, to everyone, if you are more social : People generally forget what they have to share when they start to meet and know many people in their lives. Everyone won't get what your emotions are like. Friends do know and keep that emotion talk to your friends. The lesser you moan  in front  of everyone, the faster you heal.

5) Priority in life : We often don't have any idea whats our priority in life. Thats why we get confused and we just screw everything up. We  definitely  should try this , it would take about five seconds, whats our priority again? Friends ? Family ? Facebook ? Religion ? Honesty ? There you go. Think on it.

6) Respect people for what they did : I mean, lets face it, as the slogan of The Social Network says, " You don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies". So, despite the fact, you have grudges, show respect, even if you can't show anything else.

7) Don't get in a relation forcefully if you don't feel like : Who doesn't want love? Who wants to stay single? But people rush in it. People rush and think that things would get better. But love happens. You can't force it to be with you. You have people with you already. Its tough. Its hard. But let love come the natural way to you, the way you deserve. Or else, its just hurt and then people moan " We got heartbroken" .

8) Last, Stop over-thinking : Yes, including me, many people over think about everything. Let just leave things the way they are for a while. Lets just not give our useful opinions to everyone, in a conversation even, because if anyone would want for our opinion, they would ask. Stop blabbering about diet. You would get into a gym and get slim one day if we really wanted to. And would ignore junk food. Stop over THINKING! Thats right. Thank Allah for who we are right now. The best part is, you're blessed that you can read this.

Nostalgic's Photography ( Interview )

Name:
- Naqqash M Khan

Nickname:
- buxkhan/ nostalgic
DOB :
- 09/12/1983
Favorite dish:
- Handi with lots of salad :)

Give us a brief introduction about yourself?
- I like the fact that in photography you can capture a moment in time that will never be exactly the same again. I’m a freelance photographer, specializing in event, macro, landscape and portrait photography. In my photography, I strive to be different, always open to taking on new challenges and ideas. I’m open to collaborations or just being a part of anything inspirational. My goal is to one day become a professional photographer and be successful in what ever I choose to do.

Study background?
I have done BCS honor in Computer Science and MBA in Human resource. Internship in Wireless Networking from Orbit Networks.

Photography as a passion or just a hobby?
-Photography changed my life forever, The day I picked up a camera I became a storyteller. Photography is my passion, my happy obsession, my safe addiction. It’s what I do to earn a living and for pleasure on my days off. I live and breathe in pixels!

How did you got into photography stuff?
-Basically it started from 2001 while I was in FSC, I had a very close relation with electronics, like computer, latest technology cell phones, computer software etc, so when I covered my cousin's wedding ceremony with a digital camera and did photo & video processing, it was appreciated allot in whole family. So they suggested me to work in that field along with studies. and the journey begun.

Who are your inspirations?
-Mr Serdar GรœNGร–R (Italian) was my first inspiration and I am glad I came across him.

What else are your hobbies except photography?
-Sketching, Teaching, Music, Web design, Post Processing

Would you like to have interns with you?
-Yeah sure, I believe sharing knowledge, we learn more

Who is the one person you would like to do or dying to do photo-shoot of?
-If I speak the truth, there is no specific person for whom I be dying to take picture, for me every picture I take rather a person or subject it carry equal importance.

In which kind of Photography section do you focus/ have more fun like fashion photo-shoots, outdoor shoots or wedding photo-shoots etc.?
-The time I pick up the camera, I thought am good at macro and landscape photography, but by time I found out am much better with Portrait photography, I enjoy most capturing expressions of the subject. Same as with wedding photography by which we meet different people, know each other and receiving love from all clients is like heaven on earth.

You got an opportunity to do photo shoot for many magazines and known people in this glamorous industry how was your experience working with them?
Yes I got an experience of covering Live concert of QB, it was awesome and fun person to work with. Also cover Boutique opening ceremony of UK Brand in Lahore with Hadiqa Qiyani, it was also good experience.

What is important?
1. Good camera
2. Editing skills
3. Good face
- I think combination of them all comes out with some awesome result. They all play important role. It also depend on your clients demand.

Let’s get a bit technical which cameras do you use? And it would be really great if you give a short review about it too?
- Sony Alpha is my camera brand of choice and it always sparks the question “Why?”, to which I reply with “Why not?”. My love for camera gear and photography itself has inspired me to create my own fan page, where I share views on camera equipment and photo projects that I undertake and if you’ve been around long enough you’ll notice my enthusiasm enough to know why I choose Sony.
I am not against brands like Canon or Nikon but I believe they don't offer all in one in a camera of good price, but if there are then they are out of a passionate person's budget, The day I bought Sony a580 (which compares to Nikon D7000 in DXO Mark), I was able to buy more then 9 Lenses which also plays an important role in photography.

Who has been most supportive while you were becoming a Photographer mum or dad?
-They both had their important role by supporting and understanding what I do and didn't force me to become an engineer or doctor :D in which I might have not provide my services at its best.

Any moment when you were like I am the best photograph and you are leaving photography?
-I believe there is no limit to any knowledge, it better we share it and try to learn more as much as possible.

Which, when, where were the best/interesting events you have covered till now?
Wedding ceremony in Sheraz Arena, Peshawar.
Live Concert of QB in FMC, Abbottabad

One embarrassing and funny moment while you were on your work?
- Thanks Allah, never got embarrassed in any event coverage as we try our level best to be as much professional as possible and covering Kids in wedding is more enjoyable and funny thing to do as they are always doing some thing notty :)

What are the other goals you have?
-I have an educational institute running in Abbottabad, I also do teaching computer classes. I am working hard to have a school system, were we do grooming of students in the best possible way and provide incentives as much as possible.

Where do you see yourself in next few years?
-I believe if we do hard work it's never lost. So I doing what I am suppose to do lets see where it take us. :)
