Tell us a bit about yourself?
Some ordinary guy trying to do some not so ordinary things in life. Bringing out
the artist inside.
Study background?
Currently studying Film & Television at the National College of Arts Lahore.
What are your songs about?
Our songs are basically about ourselves. We (I and Raheej) are all about playing
with what we know, experimenting, and bringing out something different everytime.
Knowing what you do is one thing, but the creative element comes in when you play
with it and experiment.
Who inspired you to become a singer?
I was always into making music and songs in general. I remember recording original
stuff in my dad's cellphone back when I was 11 or 12.
That one artist you would love to work with?
There are many. Some of them would be Ali Azmat, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Lupe
Fiasco, Coldplay and Dr. Dre.
Define music/singing in your own words?
From a musician's perspective, music is your definition. It defines who you are
because at the end of the day, you're creating what you feel like.
Is there any message you consistently try to portray in your music?
To artists, be original. To the people, stop blaming others when you yourself
don't do anything about anything. And ofcourse, work hard play hard.
If you got a record deal at this second, would you accept it?
Depends on what I'm being offered. I'm not here to do business. I'm an artist and
my music will always be my priority.
You are currently working with a band, ever thought of ditching it?
Never thought about ditching it. Raheej and I are literally brothers, so I don't
see anyone ditching the unit for a long time lol.
Would you prefer performing solo or with your boys?
With my boys. Always. The feeling, It's always something different.
Best performance yet?
With Raheej, the best was at the Welcome Party '12 at The University of Central
Punjab. And my best solo performance was at NCA Welcome Festival '12 as a member
of the Western Music Society.
Views about Pakistani music industry?
A lot of fake artists, especially in the Rap/Hip-Hop scene. Mainstream not doing
so good. And a lot of great underground/independent artists and bands.
Which Pakistani female vocalist would you like to collaborate with?
Mesha Shafi, Maria Fatima Unera Qureshi and a couple of seniors in my college lol.
How much role does the sound editing software’s play in a final ready to listen
song?
Not much in what we do. I mean, in Rap & Hip-Hop, the vocals are mostly raw. They
sound better that way.
Which musical instrument do you play really well?
None, to be honest. But I sure would love to learn playing a flute and rubab.
Worst comment by any hater?
When we were about to perform at the Welcome Party @ UCP, a hater (another
rapper/director of the Plektra Music Society) was like " Yaar ye live kar hi nahi
kar saktay mjhe pta hai ". Got owned later on.
Any upcoming projects?
A lot. Can't name them all. Some of them are Super Cold, Hawami, Oh Bhens.
Any message for your fans?
