Armeena Rana Khan ( Biography )

Armeena Rana Khan
Back ground :

Armeena Rana-Khan is a Canadian actress and model. She began her acting as a hobby whilst studying for a degree in business in the United Kingdom. After graduating with honours she turned away from a career in business management to focus on acting seriously. She landed roles in independent films and shorts and moved residence from Canada to London permanently. From here she explored the European and South Asian film and media industries.

South Asia :
In 2011, her career received a boost in South Asia where she was hired as a commercial model to front campaigns for a number of major Pakistani brands that aired on a cross platform multinational basis. This culminated in her acclaimed campaign of 2011 for Nishat Linen Company, which turned Armeena into a recognisable face in Pakistan. The success of this campaign resulted Nishat commissioning larger repeat campaign in 2012.

Bollywood :
Armeena’s fluency in Hindi resulted in offers from Bollywood. She appeared in various media including Maxim and Saboo live. Armeena has completed her first Bollywood feature film ‘It’s too much’ (release date: 2013) and made a guest appearance in a song for the International film ‘Unforgettable’.

Europe :

Along with her work in the Bollywood and South Asia, Armeena continues to collaborate on experimental European projects aimed at film festivals. When asked about these niche projects in a magazine interview in September 2012, she stated, “I love the small independent shorts because I am committed to developing my art. At the same time I would love to help create a professional and viable market in the west for Asian talent. I started in these conceptual films and love the freedom and dynamic direction they allow”

Justice for Shahzaib Khan

On Tuesday, December 25th 2012, the innocent life of Shahzeb Khan was taken away leaving behind thousands of hearts shattered and shocked. Little had anyone known that such a generous, loving and undoubtedly the most loyal of individuals would have to depart from everyone’s lives through the hands of drunken murderers.
Shahzeb Khan, the only son of his parents, was shot dead because of a small argument. He and his sister had just returned to their home in the Country Club Apartments from the wedding when a servant living in the building teased his sister. Shahzeb raised his voice against the harassment. But this did not sink in well with the harasser’s master, one Nawab Siraj Talpur. A fight broke out soon after, but Shahzeb’s father, DSP Aurangzeb, jumped in and quickly resolved the dispute, and the two men left on a good note.

Everything seemed normal. Soon after, Shahzeb decided to have tea with his friends. But the feud wasn’t over in Talpur’s mind till then. As an oblivious Shahzeb drove in his car near Mubarak Masjid, Talpur and his friend Shahrukh Jatoi followed him, along with Jatoi’s armed guards. Police say that in an act of cold-bloodedness, they then allegedly fired four bullets into Shahzeb’s car, leaving him severely injured, and eventually dead.
Shahzeb Khan didn’t even get time to change the clothes he wore to his sister’s valima. He was in his dark grey dress shirt and trousers when four 9mm bullets pierced through his car – a gleaming blue Swift which was an early birthday gift from his parents, and entered his body, eventually killing this popular 20 year old.
Shahzeb Khan was a man of gold, an inspiration and a hero. It is now on our shoulders to bring the murderers of Shahzeb Khan to justice and insist on bringing about a change before it is too late to realize how the simple understanding of justice could have made the difference.

“Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and greed. If people all over the world would do this, it would change the earth.”
