Name:
Muhammad Ahmed
Nickname:
No Nick
D.O.B: 13 June
Favorite Dish:
I don’t have any particular favorite Dish; I just love trying all sort of food and love them all.
Give us a brief introduction about yourself:
Well, I am a self starter, motivated and have eager to learn new things, willing to provide guidance and help others to become team players by setting an example and leading the way. I lived in UK for almost 6 years where I have done my MBA and some other business diplomas. I call this my achievement as I earned money from there and spent on my education. I still remember how I used to go to university in the morning after doing a 9 hours night shift in a store as a CSR; you can also call me a self made guy.
Educational Background:
I have quite a mix of degrees; for instance, I have a ‘Software Engineering’ Degree from Institute of Management Science –Lahore, I have also a bachelor degree in ‘Economics & Journalism’ from Govt. College Sahiwal. I have also an MBA Degree in ‘International Business’ from Coventry University – UK.
Photography as a passion or just a hobby:
It is more of a passion for me.
How did you got into photography stuff?
I have always been a nature and beauty devotee and always wanted to get hold of them; Photography is only one way of having them with you forever.
Who are your inspirations?
1. Tony Ray-Jones (I like him because of his humorous way of photography of British life at leisure, you can check his work on this website: memoryprints.com.)
2. David Loftus for his food photography
3. Nigel Barker for his fashion photography
4. Irfan Ahson for his wedding photography
5. Tabish Q. Nayeemi for his nature photography
What else are your hobbies except photography?
Well, I am working full time as a Senior Marketing Manager in an American based company in Islamabad and it is really hard to get time for anything else other than the photography. I love trying different food places; I love travelling and sometimes music. I do get time for gym.
Would you like to have interns with you?
Sure but I recently have a bad experience though.
Who is the one person you would like to do or dying to do photo-shoot of?
Hmmm, the list is long J but currently I want to do a shoot with Imran Khan.
Was photography your passion?
I have always been passionate about photography but never got the time to exercise my passion in a better way.
In which kind of Photography section do you focus/ have more fun like fashion photo-shoots, outdoor shoots or wedding photo-shoots etc.?
I love doing portraits, fashion and landscape photography; this is an expensive diversion so I am saving up some money (which seems impossible so far J) to buy a full frame camera.
What is important?
1. Good camera
You don’t need an expensive camera to start photography but yes a good camera is necessity.
2. Editing skills
I would say photography is all about having an artistic approach towards whatever you want to capture and then no doubt a good editing skill generate a superb piece. I have seen many people wasting their energy having expensive cameras without any artistic sense and editing skills.
3. Good face
- If you are asking about in photographer’s sense then I would say face is not important than his/her attitude with his/her client.
- And if you are talking about photography point of view then a photogenic face is very important.
Let’s get a bit technical which cameras do you use? And it would be really great if you give a short review about it too:
Well, I have two babies right now: Nikon D5000 and Canon 60D. Though both of them are not full frame but at the moment they are fulfilling my needs. I normally use Cannon for wedding/fashion photography with EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Standard Zoom Lens. And I use Nikon with Nikon 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S VR for nature photography.
Any tip for new photographers:
Think before you click J
What do you think is there any scope for photography in Pakistan?
Well, there is always scope for talented people; we have this dilemma in Pakistan that we start doing things seeing other people doing without even thinking that you are not only wasting your time but also taking over a seat of someone talented.
Who has been most supportive while you were becoming a Photographer mum or dad?
Well, I would not say I am very good photographer but whatever I am, I am thankful to Allah.
Any person you would like to say thank to?
Well, I am thankful to all my very close friends who actually know and encouraged me for the talent that I have somewhere inside me.
Any moment when you were like I am the best photograph and you are leaving photography.
I know this is very typical answer but I never felt that I am a good photographer or I shall leave clicking. It’s my passion and I am not in the race of being best or leaving this.
Which, when, where was the best/interesting event you have covered till now?
Well, every event I have covered so far; I have enjoyed especially wedding shoots because when you get a feeling of being a family while shooting in a wedding ceremony, it is awesome.
One embarrassing or funny moment while you were on your work?
Lolz, I forget SD memory card in my laptop once and I realized this when I was in the middle of a wedding shoot. Thanks God, there was a shop nearby from where I bought new SD Card.
What are the other goals you have?
I want to have my own marketing advertising agency along with a lush photo studio.
Where do you see yourself in next few years?
I see myself somewhere in Canada running a marketing advertising agency and yes clicking J
Any message for your fans:
Well, I would say be truthful to your profession, workplace, friends, family, off course to yourself as well and leave all outcomes to Allah. Do not dwell in the past; do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.
