Khurram Waqar ( Interview )

Name: Khurram Waqar
DOB: 23rd July, 1975
Nick Name: kW
Favorite dish:
Whatever my wife cooks for me. Tell us a bit about yourself?
I am a musician trying to make things work without compromising on my beliefs .... :)
Study background?
Masters in Information Systems Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
What are your guitar lessons are about?
I have not given guitar lessons in a while but when I used to give them, it was all about believing in yourself instead of following the trend. You can be a very fine guitar player but if you do not believe in what you are doing, you will never be able to stand out.
Who inspired you to become a guitarist?
One and one man only ... Slash.
That one artist you would love to work with?
Ofcourse, Slash... and hopefully if God permits and I live, I will be collaborating with him.
You're a guitarist, define your feelings in your own words?
I am a musician first and then a Guitar Player. For me, whatever that comes has to come from the heart i.e what I believe in. I do not conform to trends or any certain patterns. I do what I believe in and I am glad our fans like it.
Is there any message you consistently try to portray in your guitar lessons?
Just Do it! and Believe in yourself..... If you do, you can achieve anything.
If you got a record deal at this second, would you accept it?
If I get a record deal from abroad, I will accept it right away as I know they will do something for me and my band. In Pakistan, I do not trust any of these labels.
Best performance yet?
It is yet to come ....
Views about Pakistani music industry?
We are a talented bunch. The talent here is immense but it is not utilised properly. The corporates control the so called music scene which in actuality can be termed below average. That is my 2 cents. I have my own studio and can get my music across. The rest of the talented bunch do not have that luxury and just get frustrated and lose hope.

Which Pakistani female vocalist would you like to collaborate with?
There is only one name that comes to mind. Madamme Abida Parveen and we are already doing something very interesting and unique with her. She is just unbelievable. Her conviction and belief only motivates you more. Respect.
Which Pakistani male vocalist would you like to collaborate with?
Again there is only one name that comes to mind. Mr. Ali Azmat.
How much role does the sound editing software’s play in a final ready to listen song?
The software can only play a role up to a certain limit. If the song is average, no software in the world can make it sound great and if a song is good, then the software will just enhance it. That is my honest opinion.
Which musical instrument do you play really well instead of guitar?
I think I play the bass pretty well. In the first album, besides playing 99% of lead/rhythm guitars, I played and recorded all of the bass as well and fell in love with the instrument.
Worst comment by any hater?
I don't have time to think about it. There are more things in this world to love than to hate. So if somebody does not like what I am doing, that is understandable. I wish everybody all the best.
Any upcoming projects?
Lots of interesting collaborations and some international commitments. Exciting times ahead....
Any message for your fans
Just keep believing in yourself and just do what you want to do with an honest heart.
Where can we find you online:
The best way would be my Facebook profile, my Facebook page or the Qayaas Facebook Page
How do you interact with your fans?
I interact with them via phone, sms and facebook messaging. They are the reason Qayaas is what it is today and I make sure that even if I don't have time, I make time for them.

Im more of a Hobbyist person. Future Entrepreneur  I love to Dance, Socially interact with my peeps, and Beatbox, And ofcourse.. Photography!
Study background? Currently Studying FSc Part 1 Pre Eng at PakTurk Intl.
Photography as a passion or just a hobby? For me It started out as a hobby, and Initially grew into a profession. At the moment you can say its both, I take shoots upon requests but I also shoot just because i love to. There isnt anything else that cheers me up more than Photography.
How did you got into photography stuff? To be entirely honest. I dont know. I remember that I went to the states in 2011 to do 11th grade, and before that I had a slight interest, But I remember seeing amazing photos of amazing places and people, It just Struck me then that this is what I wanted to do. I wanted to capture moments, Not just pictures.
Who are your inspirations? Well, there are many, Too hard to Write em all down, Some Pakistani's that I'd like to mention are Diyach Thebo, Mahad Ali Sajid for editing and Waliya Najib
What else are your hobbies except photography? There's Football, Beatboxing, Playing the Guitar Ocassionally (Even though Im not that good at it.), Dancing *My all time favourite*, Eating *Munch munch* lol, and Gaming.

Who is the one person you would like to do or dying to do photo-shoot of? Ughhh Too hard to answer. If I had to pick I'd say, Not just a person but I'd love to do photoshoots of Dj concerts, and Musicians like Zoe vicaggi and Dev. These two people would look amazing behind the lens. Im almost sure of it.

Was photography your passion? It wasnt. At first. But It grew into me, and now I cant live without it. I have my camera almost everywhere I go, but Nowadays i leave it at home just because of the Haalaat around Pk. Hope it gets better!

In which kind of Photography section do you focus/ have more fun like fashion photo-shoots, outdoor shoots or wedding photo-shoots etc.? Outdoor/Natural, Cultural, And Ofcourse Raves/Party Photography. But I love the rich colorful culture of Pakistan. I also Love Long Exposure Photography and Simple Portrait Photography.
What is important?
1. Good camera
2. Editing skills
3. Good face - Well... It all depends really, But of course the only thing that really matters is Good Photography sense. You can sense at which time this particular person/place would look good And which place would suit as the perfect background. To me photography sense is all that matters. Second comes Skills. Third Editing, and then fourth A good Camera.
Let’s get a bit technical which cameras do you use? And it would be really great if you give a short review about it too? I currently Own two cameras, A Canon 550D (T2i) Which was my first camera And I love it more than Anything. Bought it with my own Hard earned money. And I Also own a Canon 7D. I've never been fond of Nikon cameras And I don't think I ever will be. Canon Camera suit me more, but it depends upon the photographer. Some of my great photographer friends own Nikon cameras and take SPECTACULAR Pictures.
Well I've had the Canon 550D for over two years, It's been my right hand man. I'd definetely Recommend this camera for starters. It's easy to use and fun to learn with it. The 7D is a little outdated than the 550 D, but Its FPS is higher and Iso can be boosted wayy more. I'd prefer the 7D for Professional shoots anyday.
Who has been most supportive while you were becoming a Photographer mum or dad? If I truly have to be honest, My family hasnt been that supportive. I've had to buy my own equiptment with my own money and make my own way. My dad doesnt think highly of it, my mum is soome what supportive. But i Know why, it's because I dont give enough time to my studies. When I get that under Wraps, They'll support me Fully InshAllah. They've promised.
Any moment when you were like I am the best photograph and you are leaving photography? No, Lol. And hopefully It wont happen.
Which, when, where were the best/interesting events you have covered till now? Well there was a Skylanterns Event in Lahore, whihch was amazing to Cover then there was A DJ party and My cousins wedding. All amazing events with coulorful receptions and Amzing Atmosphere. You could say it was a photographers dream.
Most amazing moment in your life? This is what I solemnly remember, The best moment in mylife was saving up that 1000 Dollars back in 2011, just to buy a Camera. My family thought I was crazy lol. And When I came back Seeing all my family crying at my arrival and My dad being proud of me for Not bringing any Fazul Cheezain lol.
If not photography what other Field would you have liked to join in the Arts? Oooh.. Tough one. I'd love to jump into the Music scene or Acting scene. I Love being in front of the lens as much as being behind it. Also Dance. Dance is My Passion. I randomnly start dancing in places With a smooth floor. Hehehe. I guess dance is in my blood.
One embarrassing and funny moment while you were on your work? Yes. Lol, I remember one time I had a project in mind to take pictures of floral Items/objects/prints so As i was going along the road I saw a girl with a floral dress on in Lahore, I asked her if I could take a picture for a project, She blatantly stared at me and Screamed "Ghar me maa bhen nae hain?!". Lol, I just started my car and left.
What are the other goals you have? InshAllah, Software Engineering. Im a total nerd. I love Software and Harware and Anything to do with it. And Graphic Designing and A succesful coder.
Where do you see yourself in next few years? In the Next few years.. I'd probably see myself A sucessful Software Engineer with a Good background in coding and Graphic designing. Plus The photography will definitely help in Graphic Designing. InshAllah
Any message for your fans? I love you all.  Deeply from the bottom of my heart, You guys have made me want to put up more photos. I know you guys want me to put up more photos and Shoots, but honestly I barely find time. Once I do, It'll be there. 2 British Lesbians Pakistani Girls Married in UK | PG 18+

2 girls of Pakistani origin got married in England. The marriage is registered now in Great Britain. Names of the girls are Rehana Kausar and Sobia Komal. According to reports both of them approached the council office initially and told them that they want to get married to each other. Council apologized initially and stated that since both of them are Muslims, therefore it is not possible for both of them to tie a lesbian knot with each other. After that Rehana Kausar and Sobia Komal adapted the stance that both of them are adults now and according to the laws of Great Britain, they reserve the right to spend their lives as they wish. Council registered them in one month duration and after the completion of the registration both of the girls arrived at council’s registration office in white bridal dress. After that they signed the registration documents and got connected to each other in a lesbian knot.
According to sources Rehana Kausar is from Lahore while Sobia Komal is resident of Mirpur. It is noteworthy that both of them are earning and Rehana Kausar has attained her PhD from Punjab University.
The trend they have set might be encouraging for other such Muslim origin girls based in UK. Homosexuality concept is not present in Islam and in countries like Pakistan or any other Muslim country this kind of relationship is not appreciated at all.
Whatever the case may be, this trend in Muslim girls is damaging the image of Islam and it should rather be discouraged at every platform by Muslims whether in countries like Pakistan, USA or Great Britain.

Where is my vote?

This is a protest against the recently conducted so called 'Free and Fair Elections' in Pakistan where evident rigging was observed at so many polling stations in Pakistan, with actual video/audio proofs!

Before we accept the results and before they announce the new Government of Pakistan we demand an explanation of why ECP and Pakistani Media were unresponsive on these incidents of dhandli? Where was the so called army which was deployed to ensure genuine, fair and secure elections?

Its not about who comes to power, its about the injustice that we experienced in these elections. And we ought to demand the explanation for this conduct, because every single vote matters! Remember it is solely our responsibility to take a stand and bring the change, as we also promised to Khan Sahab.

"Allah Us qaum ki haalat nai badalta, jo khud apni haalat nahi badalte.
